White Epoxy Basement Floor

Its been difficult to create blog posts this year due to the fact that we’ve been overwhelmingly busy. We run a 3-man crew for our business to operate, on all fronts, so we all have our hands on a task in front of us. With that, I found time today to post about a white epoxy basement floor that came out great! Believe it or not, the homeowner actually wanted to go above and beyond stained concrete for their basement floor. They ended up choosing our Metallic Marble Epoxy flooring option. Providing more benefits than traditional stained concrete. Check out our pictures below on the process and end result!     White epoxy benefits include a well lighted area (much brighter basement room), stain and chemical resistant, easy to clean, and resistant to flood damage. Above all, this is a decorative, beautiful flooring finish for a basement. We were asked to do a white epoxy floor. We’ve never had the opportunity or have finished concrete with our white epoxy. It’s a very difficult floor to do for several reasons. Such as, white floors show everything that fall into it while curing – hair, dust, etc. It also shows anything underneath it as it is translucent by nature. Any repairs that one makes, can show up through it. However, all these aside and minimized, this floor looks amazing when complete. Once furniture has been placed and colors have been added – it will look great! These repairs allow us to achieve a seamless floor and make it look like one giant piece. From there, we grind the repairs flush with the floor. Then the coating process begins. We first start with a water-based primer, then apply a white base coat. The following day we sand this coat and apply the white metallic epoxy coating. Lastly, we come back and apply a water-based polyurethane sealer to protective the floor from damage. Check out these pictures to get a better understanding of the process. Also to check out how awesome a white floor can be. We have been invited back to take pictures of the floor once the furniture has been added and the basement completed – which I will upload at a later date.     Call or e-mail us for a free quote for your home or business about our white epoxy basement floor project. We would love to answer any questions you may have about the finish. https://pccofcolumbus.com/epoxy-flooring/
